About the role
We are seeking an experienced Bench Technician with strong expertise in semiconductor RF repair to join our Internal Repair Facility in ATMC, Austin.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair complex automatic and logic-controlled electronic systems at the component level
- Perform troubleshooting and failure analysis of RF equipment, including matchers and generators
- Modify and test sub-components to meet operational requirements
- Conduct detailed root cause analysis of major equipment malfunctions
- Set up, operate, and adjust advanced diagnostic and measurement instrumentation
- Develop or improvise circuits or test setups to support unique repair scenarios
- Work independently to complete assigned repairs with minimal supervision
- Maintain documentation and communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and customers
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong background in RF electronics repair, preferably in semiconductor equipment
- Solid knowledge of: Analog and digital electronics, Circuit design (intermediate level), Diagnostic and troubleshooting techniques
- Proficiency with complex test equipment and instrumentation, Voltage meters, ESR, Oscilloscope, Signal generators etc.
- Good mechanical aptitude
- Skills to read schematics and understand circuits
- Repair RF Matchers and Generators as well as complex PCB and Controllers using root cause methodology down to component level
- Able to perform post repair testing with knowledge of load testing and or signal generation
- Enter information into our internal database
- Perform through-hole, surface mount and fine pitch soldering
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Able to adapt in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with shifting priorities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Physical & Work Requirements
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds as needed
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Adherence to all safety protocols, including: Electrical safety, Mechanical safety, Chemical safety

Qualifications
- Minimum associates degree in Electronics
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working in bench repair field on Matching units and Generators (i.e. Advanced Energy, Odyssey)
- Experience in RF theory and AC/DC circuit design
Additional Skills And Targeted Experience
- Understanding of Smith Charts, spectrum analyzer
- High Power DC supply repair, testing and calibration ranging from 1kW to 80kW
- AC and DC Servo/Stepper motor rebuild and test
- Advanced experience in AC and DC circuitry, advance test equipment, simulation software, and discrete semiconductor characteristics
- Labview, Multi-Sim, Cadence or equivalent electrical design software
- Hardware programming language (VHDL, Verilogic, JTAG, etc.)
