REVIT/BIM Security Systems Designer

About the role

We're looking for a Security Systems Design Engineer to create the design and documentation of integrated security solutions—including access control, surveillance, intrusion detection, structured cabling, and more. This is more than a drafter role: you'll own the drawing process, collaborate with sales, and guide technical designs that power security infrastructure for critical clients.

Responsibilities

• Create and manage detailed Revit-based technical drawings for integrated building security, surveillance, intrusion, and electronic access control systems
• Partner with sales engineers during proposal phases to develop system layouts, schematics, and riser diagrams
• Collaborate with construction MEP and architectural team members in live online drawing sets
• Interpret client requirements, field data, and specifications to produce accurate, code-compliant designs
• Deliver submittal and as-built documentation in coordination with engineering and operations teams
• Own your workload and project timelines with autonomy, while collaborating cross-functionally to deliver successful solutions

Requirements

• 5+ years of drafting/design experience, preferably in low-voltage security, IT and ICT building systems
• Advanced Revit proficiency is essential, with ability to work in a BIM environment
• Understanding of low voltage systems, including CCTV, access control, intercom, intrusion detection, and structured cabling
• Knowledge of ANSI/TIA standards (568, 569, 606)
• Hold NICET or alarm certification
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills
• Ability to work independently and proactively across departments
• Valid Driver's License required

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field—or equivalent combination of relevant experience, certifications, and demonstrated Revit proficiency.

Pay

Competitive salary range: $95,000–$125,000 based on experience.
