About the role

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) invites applications for the position of Business Operations Coordinator, UNLV Undergraduate Education and High Impact Practices [R0151147]. Reporting to the Associate Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education & High-Impact Practices (AVPUEHIP) with a dotted line to the Director of Career Services and Workforce Development (Director), the Business Operations Coordinator (Coordinator) provides comprehensive executive operational administrative support to the AVP Undergraduate Education & High-Impact Practices, the Director, and the Office of Career Services and Workforce Development (Office).

Responsibilities

  • Provides comprehensive management and orchestration of day-to-day office administrative operations and front desk activities for the Office of Career Services and Workforce Development.
  • High level administrative support to the AVPUEHIP and the Director.
  • Evaluates, coordinates, and problem-solves situations, events, interpersonal matters, and projects to ensure the smooth, ethical, professional functioning of the offices of the AVPUEHIP and Office operations.
  • Coordinates and executes events and conferences, ensuring appropriate preparations and successful delivery.
  • Manages the Office budget and finance related activities, including regularly updating, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Maintains Office personnel and position management / human resources (HR) activity, including proactive monitoring, initiation and follow-up of procedures for related HR actions.
  • Works to continually evaluate and respond to the administrative needs and seeks solutions to new challenges.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
  • 3-5 years of related professional experience.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree from a regionally accredited college/university is preferred.
  • Experience with UNLV policies and procedures.
  • Experience with university financial, human resources, and student information systems.

  • Analytical and critical thinking to evaluate, coordinate, and problem-solve situations, events, interpersonal matters, and projects.
  • Independent judgment, initiative, and discernment to lead executive-level administrative support.
  • Detail and organizational skills, effective multitasking, calm prioritization, efficient accomplishment of tasks and goals.

Pay

Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions.

Schedule

With administrative faculty positions, some evening and weekend work may be necessary, and there may be occasional travel.
