Reverse Engineer/Malware Analyst with Security Clearance

Job Summary

We are seeking experienced malware analysts and cybersecurity professionals to join our dedicated team at Set of X. This role involves analyzing and dissecting malware and APTs, identifying vulnerabilities, and developing tools to enhance security. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in reverse engineering, cybersecurity, and relevant programming skills.

About the Role

As a malware analyst, you will play a crucial role in protecting critical systems and information by providing actionable insights and supporting incident response and forensic investigations.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and dissect malware and APTs to understand their functionality and impact
• Identify vulnerabilities and exploits across various systems and networks
• Develop tools and scripts to automate malware analysis and threat detection
• Collaborate with intelligence analysts, software developers, and cybersecurity teams to provide actionable insights
• Document findings and produce detailed technical reports for internal teams and federal partners
• Stay current on emerging threats, malware trends, and reverse-engineering techniques
• Support incident response and forensic investigations as needed

Requirements

• Strong experience in reverse engineering, malware analysis, and cybersecurity
• Proficiency with assembly, C/C++, Python, and scripting languages for analysis automation
• Experience with disassembly and debugging tools such as IDA Pro, Ghidra, Radare2, OllyDbg, WinDbg
• Familiarity with operating systems internals (Windows, Linux, macOS)
• Knowledge of networking protocols, encryption, and exploit development is a plus
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and collaboratively

Education/Experience

• 12 years of experience in a technical discipline

Certification

• TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
