Responsibilities

This role focuses on learning how to complete accurate and efficient sales and use tax audits that support taxpayer compliance. As a Revenue Tax Auditor Trainee, you will perform the following duties:

• Audit Learning: Learn audit methods that support fair, equitable reviews
• Site Work: Learn to work at field audit locations to improve audit efficiency
• Record Research: Research departmental records to prepare for audits and identify related assignments
• Taxpayer Contact: Reach out to taxpayers or representatives to schedule audits in an efficient manner
• Conference Participation: Participate in conferences before and after audits to explain procedures, findings, and relevant laws
• Facility Review: Inspect business facilities to understand operations and confirm areas to be audited
