Revenue Specialist I (Collections)- Remote

About the role

Remote/work from home position performing revenue cycle duties including processing patient insurance information through intake, collecting payments on outstanding balances, resolving credits from overpayments, and issuing refunds. The role operates on MST hours, Monday‑Friday full‑time with flexible scheduling in a community‑based work culture.

Responsibilities

• Process patient insurance information through the patient intake process.
• Collect payment on outstanding patient balances.
• Resolve credits when overpayments are received from payers and issue refunds as needed.
• Communicate with insurance payers to ensure proper coverage and timely reimbursement for dialysis services.
• Respond timely and accurately to payer communications.
• Collaborate with other revenue operations teams to ensure seamless processes.
• Partner with clinic teammates (insurance counselors, social workers, facility administrators) for accurate insurance information.
• Help identify process changes and opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Maintain current patient account information at all times.
• Maintain confidentiality of company and patient information per HIPAA and DaVita policies.
• Attend team meetings, phone conferences, and training as needed.
• Work overtime as needed.
• Know, understand and follow teammate guidelines, employment policies, and department/company procedures.

Requirements

No previous healthcare experience required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Training

DaVita provides training on:

• Revenue cycle, insurance rules, and regulations for federal, state, and/or managed care payers in multiple states.
• Medical billing and reimbursement practices.
• Usage of DaVita billing and reimbursement systems.
• Basic medical reimbursement terminology.
• Healthcare reimbursement accounting principles.

Pay

Wage range: $19.29 – $23.00 per hour. Compensation depends on qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. Location‑specific minimum wage details are provided for New York and Washington (see DaVita.jobs/WageRates).

Schedule

Monday‑Friday, full‑time, permanent opportunity with flexible scheduling. Remote/work‑from‑home position; expected to work MST hours.
