About the role

This full-time position supports the San Antonio, TX clinic, supervising day-to-day revenue cycle operations to maximize payments and reimbursements from patients, insurance carriers, financial aid, and guarantors. The role ensures adherence to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards, and aligns with US Oncology's Shared Values.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily revenue cycle functions, including appointment scheduling, insurance eligibility, charge processing, claim submission, payment processing, collections, accounts receivable management, denial management, reporting, auditing, coding, credentialing, and customer service.
• Resolve escalated and unique revenue cycle issues while ensuring quality work, meeting deadlines, and adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Prepare monthly revenue cycle financial analysis, including aged accounts, and monitor business metrics to refine processes and improve performance.
• Guide teams toward priorities, clarify roles, coordinate resources, and cascade goals to staff.
• Champion new initiatives, manage change, and address difficult issues with ownership and accountability.
• Develop, implement, and maintain revenue cycle training materials and conduct training on SOPs, systems, metrics, and government regulations.
• Coordinate front office duties, including scheduling, check-in, and co-pay/co-insurance collection.
• Attract, assess, and develop high-caliber employees; provide feedback, coaching, and challenging assignments. Conduct interviews, recommend hires, assess performance, and enforce policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in Finance, Business, or equivalent, or four years of revenue cycle experience.
• At least four years of medical revenue cycle work experience with a consistent track record of achieving metrics.
• Two years of experience managing, delegating, and following up on work priorities is strongly desired.
• Strong knowledge of medical insurance billing and collections, including CPT, ICD-9, and HCPC coding, medical terminology, and managed care products (HMO, PPO, etc.).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).

Physical Demands

• Must be present on-site during regularly scheduled business hours (8:00 AM–5:00 PM, Monday through Friday).
• Regularly required to sit or stand, talk, or hear, with full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
• Requires standing and walking for extensive periods.
• Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs.
• Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

Work Environment

• May involve exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations, and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic.
• In-person interaction with co-workers, management, and clients.
• Minimal travel by automobile to office sites may be required.

Schedule

Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.
