About the Role
Provides expert billing and collections support for commercial and government insurance claims, ensuring accurate submission, follow-up, and resolution of accounts.
Responsibilities
- Review and submit multi-specialty claims
- Perform account follow-up and update patient registration
- Resolve complex billing issues
- Serve as a technical resource and act in the absence of supervisors
- Cross-train in revenue cycle functions
- Monitor and process accounts to ensure timely reimbursement, including billing, appeals, and collections
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- At least three years of physician billing and collection experience
- Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, coding (ICD, CPT, HCPCS), insurance procedures, and regulatory policies
- Proficiency with MS Office, Web/Vs, Availity, and CS-Link preferred
- Ability to interpret regulations, handle multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and communicate professionally
- Familiarity with HIPAA guidelines and experience with CMS, Medi-Cal, and insurance EOBs required
