Revenue Cycle Manager, Medi-Cal

Rite of Passage | Tustin, CA or San Diego, CA | Full-time | Primarily in-office (not a remote position) About The Role Our California programs bill exclusively through Medi-Cal. We're hiring a Revenue Cycle Manager to design and lead the connected process that carries a service from clinical documentation through claim submission, payment, and posting. You'll build the structure, standards, and visibility that help clinical, billing, and finance work as one team. This is a system-builder role. We're looking for someone who designs workflows, not just someone who runs them. What You'll Do Map and own the end-to-end Medi-Cal revenue cycleBuild clear handoffs and checkpoints between clinical, billing, and financePartner with clinical leaders to align documentation with Medi-Cal medical necessity and billing requirementsCreate reporting that shows where every claim stands: submitted, pending, denied, paidLead denial analysis and fix root causes, not just individual claimsKeep processes current with DHCS, CalAIM, and county requirementsPrepare the program for audits and payer reviewsTrain and coach clinical and administrative staff on their role in the cycleWork alongside our finance and billing colleagues to build on what's working and strengthen the connections between teams What You Bring 5+ years in revenue cycle management, including Medi-Cal (behavioral health strongly preferred)Experience building or redesigning billing workflowsWorking knowledge of Medi-Cal claiming, authorization, and documentation standardsComfort with EHR and billing systems and 837/835 filesAbility to translate between clinical and financial languageA data-driven approach to tracking, measuring, and improving Nice to Have Experience with county mental health plans or specialty mental health servicesYouth residential or behavioral health experienceEHR implementation or optimization experience Work Location This role is based in our Tustin or San Diego office and is primarily in-office, because the work depends on close, daily collaboration with clinical and finance teams.
