About the role
The Revenue Accounting Analyst supports accurate, timely, and insightful revenue reporting across THB’s healthcare and technology-enabled services. This role bridges accounting, analytics, and operations to ensure revenue is recorded correctly, explain performance drivers, improve data quality, and enhance scalable processes. You will collaborate with the Revenue Manager, Controller, FP&A, Operations, Sales, Legal, and other teams to support the monthly close, revenue forecasting, audit readiness, contract and billing analysis, and finance process improvements.
Success in this role requires initiative—you won’t wait for perfect data or predefined problems. Instead, you’ll ask incisive questions, establish practical approaches, document assumptions, communicate early, and see tasks through to completion.
Responsibilities
Revenue accounting and close
- Prepare, analyze, and reconcile revenue-related schedules, invoices, deferred revenue, accounts receivable activity, and general ledger balances
- Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities, including researching variances and preparing clear documentation
- Review customer agreements, billing terms, and transaction data to identify issues affecting revenue treatment, billing, or reporting; escalate technical accounting questions as needed
- Apply GAAP and ASC 606 principles under established company policies and procedures
- Perform invoice-to-contract, invoice-to-ledger, and subledger-to-general-ledger tie-outs; investigate and resolve discrepancies
- Create and maintain organized, audit-ready workpapers and documentation for recurring close and revenue processes
Revenue analysis and reporting
- Produce recurring revenue reporting and dashboards to help Finance and business leaders understand performance, trends, risks, and opportunities
- Analyze actual results against budget, forecast, prior periods, and operational drivers; explain material variances concisely
- Monitor revenue-related KPIs such as billings, collections, deferred revenue, contract activity, renewal activity, revenue leakage indicators, and days-to-close
- Partner with FP&A and operational stakeholders to provide accurate revenue inputs for forecasts, budgets, business reviews, and management reporting
- Translate complex data into clear insights and actionable recommendations for both finance and non-finance audiences
- Perform ad hoc analysis to answer business questions, validate assumptions, and support strategic initiatives
Data quality, controls, and process improvement
- Identify recurring data, billing, or workflow issues; quantify their impact and recommend practical corrective actions
- Maintain internal controls, standard operating procedures, data definitions, and process documentation for revenue activities
- Improve recurring processes through better templates, reconciliations, automation, reporting logic, and quality checks
- Participate in testing and implementation of ERP, billing, reporting, or workflow enhancements
- Use approved AI-enabled tools and automation thoughtfully to improve efficiency while protecting confidential financial and customer information
Cross-functional project management
- Own or co-own finance projects from scope through completion, including defining deliverables, tracking milestones, managing dependencies, documenting decisions, and communicating status
- Coordinate with Sales, Operations, Legal, FP&A, Accounting, and external partners to resolve revenue-related questions and keep deliverables on track
- Build productive working relationships by setting clear expectations, following up consistently, and escalating risks early
- Support external and internal audit requests by gathering evidence, explaining processes, and ensuring resolution
Performance Metrics
- Reporting ownership: Own a recurring revenue reporting or reconciliation package with reliable, well-documented outputs
- Close performance: Contribute effectively to the monthly close and consistently meet agreed deadlines
- Business communication: Explain major revenue variances and data-quality issues in business terms, not just accounting terms
