About the role
In short, a Titles Specialist is responsible for reviewing vehicle deals and auditing title documentation to ensure compliance with state regulations, internal policies, and dealership standards across multiple locations. This role plays a critical part in supporting accurate title processing, identifying discrepancies of documentation, and maintaining audit readiness while partnering closely with dealership and regional operations teams.
A Titles Specialist:
- Reviews completed vehicle deals to ensure all title documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with state-specific requirements
- Conducts title audits to verify proper documentation, signatures, lien information, and supporting paperwork prior to title submission
- Identifies, researches, and resolves title discrepancies or missing documentation in a timely manner
- Partners with dealership teams and in-state vendors to ensure accurate and timely title transfers
- Maintains secure handling, tracking, and storage of vehicle titles and related documentation
- Performs monthly audits of stored titles and file room records to ensure compliance and accuracy
- Distributes titles to designated dealership locations to support vehicle movement and operational needs
- Serves as a cross-trained resource within dealership title operations and provides support where business needs arise
- Organizes and prioritizes daily workflow in a fast-paced environment with changing deadlines and operational demands
- Communicates effectively with internal teams regarding title status updates, outstanding items, and audit findings
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 2+ years of automotive titles experience required
- Experience conducting audits or reviewing documentation for accuracy and compliance preferred
