Levain Bakery was founded in 1995 by competitive triathletes and passionate bakers Pam Weekes and Connie McDonald in New York City. Known for its iconic 6‑ounce chocolate chip walnut cookie, the bakery bakes everything fresh on‑site each day, donates leftovers to charity, and now operates locations nationwide plus e‑commerce gift boxes. Retail Team Members deliver warm, helpful, accurate customer service, foster loyalty, maintain a clean inviting store, and support daily operations.

Responsibilities

• Team Collaboration – lead with curiosity and compassion, show care for co‑workers, build meaningful connections, work collaboratively to ensure smooth store operations, facilitate open clear timely communication with team and management, stay informed about new products, procedures, and promotions.
• Customer Service – greet customers warmly, ensure every guest receives consistent accurate high‑quality service reflecting Levain’s brand standards, foster strong lasting relationships to enhance sense of belonging, resolve customer issues promptly and courteously with empathy.
• Operations – adhere to established protocols and maintain highest standards of excellence for baked goods, demonstrate adept knowledge of Toast POS system, ensure in‑store and third‑party delivery orders are accurate and safely prepared, maintain cleanliness in all store areas (customer areas, restrooms, workspaces), assist in restocking and organizing inventory, follow guidelines from Shift Lead or management.

Requirements

• Previous retail or customer service experience preferred.
• Open availability: ability to work mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to lift/push up to 25+ pounds, including overhead.
• Stand/walk for an 8‑hour shift (excluding a ½ hour break); some locations require walking up and down stairs.
• Read and communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
