About the role

Oversee the operations of a retail location, managing staff, inventory, and finances while providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will have experience in retail management and a passion for the tobacco industry.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, interview, select, and retain top talent.
  • Motivate, coach, develop, lead, and train store employees on an ongoing basis.
  • Develop team’s product knowledge to position them as experts.
  • Enhance team selling skills to meet or exceed sales goals.
  • Manage and supervise a team of retail employees, including scheduling and performance management.
  • Promote and enforce company policies and procedures.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement changes to improve productivity.
  • Set clear performance expectations and ensure the team is trained in sales, customer service, and operations.
  • Communicate priorities and sales-driving information to maximize business opportunities.
  • Maintain a clean, safe environment by complying with all health and sanitation procedures.
  • Ensure the store is properly stocked with inventory and manage inventory levels and product ordering.
  • Obtain product knowledge about all products, including current launches and promotions.
  • Build relationships with customers to suggest products.
  • Meet or exceed store sales and operational goals.
  • Manage all daily store operations, including inventory, cash handling, staffing, customer service, cash reconciliation, and bank deposits.
  • Assist customers with sales transactions and provide excellent customer service.
  • Develop plans to maximize sales and drive consistent performance results.
  • Identify performance opportunities and partner with the District Manager to address and manage issues effectively.
  • Stay informed on corporate communications, directives, initiatives, policies, and procedures.
  • Implement store programs to increase efficiencies in sales, service, operations, and branding.
  • Spend the majority of business hours on the sales floor greeting customers, coaching employees, and managing the business.
  • Monitor and analyze sales and financial data to make strategic business decisions.
  • Develop and execute marketing and promotional strategies to increase store traffic and sales.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and competition, making recommendations to improve the business.
  • Open and close the store, including locking doors and arming the store.
  • Work over 40 hours a week, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Perform additional tasks, duties, or projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • At least 21 years or older.
  • Completion of high school degree.
  • At least 1-2 years of previous manager experience.
  • Flexible to work weekends, holidays, and 12-hour shifts as needed.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
