About the role

As a Part Time Retail Store Associate at Office Depot, your role is vital to our continued success in today's retail landscape. You'll engage with customers in a friendly and knowledgeable manner, creating a positive shopping experience while driving sales. You will actively connect with customers, addressing their needs by recommending the right products, services, and solutions. Through enthusiasm and expertise, you will help create and nurture a vibrant sales culture, enhance the store's visual and merchandising standards, manage freight and logistics activities, and prioritize unparalleled client satisfaction.

The Store Associate supports a customer-centric environment, engages with the local community, and contributes to a positive culture aligned with the Office Depot 5C values of Caring, Committed, Creative, Collaborative, & Courageous. You will be trained in technology and print products/services to assist customers effectively and apply cutting-edge sales principles to create satisfying customer interactions.

Responsibilities

  • Supports a positive customer-centric experience by proactively acknowledging and engaging every customer.
  • Utilizes and understands the selling program to promote the sale of the best solution as well as additional products and/or services.
  • Maintains awareness of planned advertisements, promotions, and sales and loyalty programs.
  • Consistently maintains store and print department appearance to company guidelines and keeps a neat, clean, well-stocked environment.
  • Adheres to all standards related to signage labeling and merchandise presentation.
  • Follows the established sorting and stocking guidelines and completes freight processes.
  • Ensures freight sorting area is organized and setup in accordance with guidelines.
  • Scans, investigates, and fills inventory lows and outs daily.
  • Works to continually develop personal selling skills and product knowledge through sales and service tools, including completion of Tech, Print, and other applicable training.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies, procedures, and practices; supports the company’s loss prevention efforts.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • No previous experience required; retail sales experience preferred.

Skills

  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access.
  • Able to use technology and POS systems to access information and process transactions.
  • Able to read, write, and count accurately to complete documentation, use training tools, and process inventory.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills to build selling relationships with customers and coworkers.
  • Enjoys interacting with people and working in a customer-facing environment.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $17.79 per hour. All state and local minimum wages will be complied with, resulting in a possible adjustment to the salary range displayed.
