Retail Specialist

About the role

Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson is seeking a friendly, dependable, and customer-focused Retail Specialist to support the daily operations of their retail shops.

Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding customer service to members, volunteers, and visitors.
• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system and accurately process transactions.
• Balance cash drawer, prepare deposits, and complete daily sales reports.
• Stock merchandise, maintain inventory, and create attractive product displays.
• Aid in promotions, special events, and seasonal sales.
• Help keep the shop organized, welcoming, and fully stocked.
• Support off-site events, Cookie Cupboards, and other council activities as needed.
• Travel to other GSHH locations when necessary.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of retail or customer service experience.
• Cash handling and money reconciliation experience.
• Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask and work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; POS experience preferred.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 20 pounds.
