Shortage Control Associate (SCA)

  • Directly impacts store's security and overall shopping experience
  • Monitor store entrances, exits, and high-risk areas for theft and dishonest activities
  • Engage with customers and associates in a manner consistent with company core values
  • Identify and report theft incidents and suspicious subjects to Manager on Duty
  • Provide support in training associates on shortage reduction programs and processes
  • Support store and field leadership by identifying and reporting theft incidents and/or suspicious subject(s)

Command Presence

  • Maintain professional appearance and wear designated dress standards, radio, and earpiece
  • Stand at the front of the store, remain vigilant, and be aware of surroundings
  • Greet every customer entering or exiting the store with a warm smile and loud, friendly greeting
  • Reduce opportunities for theft and promote a sense of control and security

Knowledge and Communication

  • Possess knowledge mastery of top shortage areas and support programs aimed at theft reduction
  • Communicate information about theft prevention during store rallies, collaborate with Manager on Duty
  • Conduct bag and package checks on store and corporate associates, ensure adherence to safety and security standards
  • Understand the role in keeping store and assets safe and secure

Support and Guidance

  • Provide support in training associates on shortage reduction programs and processes
  • Role-model safety as a top priority and address any unsafe practices promptly

Experience and Responsibilities

  • 1+ years of experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, or Operations preferred
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time and visually monitor store environment
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Review, analyze, and comprehend business trends
  • Exhibit a positive demeanor, strong posture, and energetic greeting
  • Work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with detailed focus and disciplined decision making
  • Excellent communication with customers and co-workers
  • Excellent leadership skills supporting productive business relationships

Schedule

  • Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as required
