Retail Shortage Control - Part Time

About the role

As a Shortage Control Associate, you will exhibit command presence, knowledge of theft trends, and a positive impression of control at store entrances, exits, and high-risk areas to mitigate theft and create a safe shopping environment. You will engage with customers and associates in a manner consistent with our company core values by providing confident, friendly, and energetic greetings. Your discipline, awareness, and commitment to safety and security standards will be critical in monitoring store entrances to reduce theft opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional appearance at all times, adhering to designated dress standards, including radio and earpiece
• Stand positioned at the front of the store, remaining vigilant and aware of surroundings
• Greet every customer entering or exiting the store with a warm smile and a loud, friendly greeting to promote security
• Create a secure environment and reduce opportunities for theft
• Possess knowledge of top shortage areas and support programs aimed at theft reduction
• Communicate theft prevention information during store rallies, collaborating with the Manager on Duty
• Conduct bag and package checks on store and corporate associates to ensure adherence to safety and security standards
• Support training associates on shortage reduction programs and processes
• Role-model safety as a top priority and address unsafe practices promptly
• Identify and report theft incidents or suspicious subjects to the Manager on Duty

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, or Operations (preferred)
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while visually monitoring the store environment
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Ability to review, analyze, and comprehend business trends
• Exhibit a positive demeanor, strong posture, and energetic greeting
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with disciplined decision-making
• Excellent communication skills with customers and co-workers
• Strong leadership skills to foster productive business relationships
• Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required

Pay

$12.00 per hour
