Duties And Responsibilities

  • Monitor the thrift store’s interior and exterior to deter theft, vandalism, or disruptive behavior.
  • Conduct regular patrols of the premises, including sales floors, stockrooms, and parking areas.
  • Prevent theft at the front of store by performing receipt checks for exposed high-dollar merchandise.
  • Greet and interact professionally with customers while maintaining vigilance.
  • Utilize de-escalation tactics when there are disturbances. Respond promptly to incidents, disturbances, or emergencies, following ARC guidelines.

  • Call 911 for any high-risk situations.

Qualifications

  • Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Security experience preferred.
  • Must be able to write incident reports as needed.

Physical Requirements

  • Sitting: Under 1/3 of the time.
  • Lifting: Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Push/Pull Using Machinery: No.
  • Standing: Over 2/3 of the time.
  • Walking: Over 2/3 of the time.
  • Reaching: Under 1/3 of the time.
  • Climbing: Under 1/3 of the time.
  • Stooping: Under 1/3 of the time.
