Retail Scan Associate (State College, PA 16801)

About the role

This is a permanent part-time role with base hours averaging 4–10 hours per week across all assigned stores, depending on store size and workload. Additional hours (typically 1–2 hours per week per store) are frequently assigned for special projects, with higher demand from January through June. Full scheduling details will be reviewed during the interview.

Responsibilities

• Visit a designated selection of stores each week to scan all product barcodes on displays and in aisle locations, including aisle end caps throughout the store.
• Use a downloadable app on a mobile phone to scan barcodes in numerous store locations.
• Provide the quantity of about 45% of the products scanned.
• Complete weekly Display Scanning for the entire store, which can take several hours.
• Participate in Custom Projects that occur almost every week and may add 1–2 hours of work per store during those weeks.
• Adhere to weekly deadlines for data collection and reporting.

Route Store Type and Location

• Convenience — STATE COLLEGE, PA 16801 (Sunday through Thursday)
• Grocery — STATE COLLEGE, PA 16803 (Sunday, Monday, or Tuesday)
• Grocery — PHILIPSBURG, PA 16866 (Thursday or Friday)

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license.
• Reliable vehicle with minimum state auto insurance coverage.
• Ability to endure being on your feet for long periods while accessing products throughout the store.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, reach 6 feet in the air, and bend/stretch/stoop/stand.
• Ability to perform repetitive movements with hands, wrists, arms, and legs for prolonged periods.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Must be deadline-driven and a self-starter.
• Must have access to reliable Wi-Fi and be tech savvy.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
