This is a permanent part-time role averaging 1–3 base hours per week across all stores, with additional hours (typically 1–2 hours per week per store) assigned for special projects, especially from January through June.

About the role

ScanScape Retail Scan Associates visit a designated selection of stores each week to scan all product barcodes on displays and in aisle locations, including aisle end caps. The collected data is analyzed to improve sales performance for both the product and retailer.

Store types include grocery, convenience, drug, pet, and mass merchandise stores, working with major retailers like Walmart, Kroger, Target, Albertsons, and other national chains, as well as small independent retailers.

Responsibilities

  • Perform in-store data collections at assigned local retailers every week for 52 weeks a year, including holiday weeks.
  • Scan barcodes in numerous store locations using a mobile app.
  • Provide quantity information for about 45% of scanned products.
  • Complete weekly Display Scanning of the entire store, which may take several hours.
  • Perform Custom Projects—additional tasks requested by clients, adding 30 minutes to 2 hours of work per store per week.
  • Adhere to weekly deadlines to ensure data quality and reliability.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license.
  • Reliable vehicle with minimum state auto insurance coverage.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and access products throughout the store.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, reach 6 feet in the air, and bend/stretch/stoop/stand.
  • Ability to perform repetitive movements with hands, wrists, arms, and legs for prolonged periods.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Deadline-driven self-starter.
  • Access to reliable Wi-Fi.
  • Tech-savvy.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED (preferred).
