Retail Scan Associate (Flemington, NJ 07930)

About the role

This is a permanent PART-TIME role. ScanScape Retail Scan Associates visit a designated selection of stores each week to scan all product barcodes on displays and in aisle locations, including aisle end caps throughout the store. The data collected is analyzed and used to improve the sales performance of the product and retailer (store).

Being a Retail Scan Associate offers an opportunity in retail, providing workplace independence, some flexibility in hours, and job consistency. There will be continuous physical activity throughout the workday shift.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-store data collections at assigned local retailers every week for 52 weeks a year, including holiday weeks
• Use a downloadable app on a mobile phone to scan barcodes in numerous locations throughout each store
• Provide the quantity of about 45% of the products you scan
• Complete Display Scanning on the entire store every week
• Complete Custom Projects (additional detailed product counts in main stocking locations) as requested by clients, typically adding 30 minutes to 2 hours of work per store each week
• Report to your store within the described deadline
• Adhere to weekly deadlines for data delivery to clients

• Grocery Store – Flemington, NJ (Sunday, Monday, or Tuesday)
• Pet Store – Phillipsburg, NJ (Monday or Tuesday)
• Convenience Store – Flemington, NJ (Sunday–Thursday)

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old
• Valid driver's license
• Reliable vehicle with minimum state auto insurance coverage
• Ability to endure being on your feet for long periods, while accessing products throughout the store
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, reach 6 feet in the air, and bend/stretch/stoop/stand
• Ability to perform repetitive movements with hands, wrists, arms, and legs for prolonged periods
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently
• Must be a deadline-driven self-starter
• Must have access to reliable Wi-Fi
• Must be tech savvy
• High school diploma or GED (preferred)

Schedule and hours

• Base hours average 5–10 hours per week across all stores, depending on store size and workload
• Additional hours (typically 1–2 hours per week per store) are frequently assigned for special projects throughout the year, with higher demand from January through June
• Full scheduling details will be reviewed during the interview
