Retail Sales - Women's Apparel - Washington Square

We’re looking for a Salesperson who is passionate about fashion and styling and has the ability to cultivate and grow a customer following, both digitally and in-store.

About the role

• Set and achieve sales goals for both in-store and digital selling with effective use of selling tools (including text and social media).
• Build lasting relationships with customers.
• Provide the best service to customers on their terms.
• Give honest and confident feedback to customers about style and fit.
• Seek fashion and product knowledge to build your expertise.
• Work with the team to keep the department customer-ready, including filling orders, stocking, re-merchandising, price markdowns, and light cleaning.
• Grow relationships by opening new Nordstrom Rewards program accounts.

The hours and schedule for this position will vary by week depending on business needs. This role may require occasional flexibility to perform work/duties in a department other than the one you were hired into.

Physical Requirements

• Continuous movement for 6-8 hours per shift, including frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing, and reaching to handle merchandise and assist customers.
• Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
• Handling bulky and sometimes awkwardly shaped items, including reaching for and lifting these items above the head.
• Regularly lift items weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds.

Pay

The hourly pay range is $17.05 - $17.05. At Nordstrom, the commission most selling employees receive varies based on the merchandise they sell. Apparel, shoes, and accessories sales typically range from 3% to 14.5%. The commission for Beauty and Men’s Fragrance sales roles is typically 3%. This position may also be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses.
