Retail Sales Specialist - Part-time

The part‑time Retail Sales Specialist works under the direction of the Bemis Bath Shoppe manager and handles all phases of day‑to‑day activity associated with the Bemis Bath Shoppe & Boutique.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, courteous customer service using cross‑selling techniques to guide, direct and influence purchasing decisions, both in‑store and via phone.
• Conduct product consultation and demonstration, acting as a consultant on product function and design while staying up to date with changing product offerings.
• Operate cash register, handle sales, order fulfillment, phone sales, process customer orders/returns, and manage all related transactions.
• Assist with store operations, including daily opening and closing, cash reconciliation, display changes, product receiving/stock counts, general housekeeping, point‑of‑sale problem solving, and preparation of reporting.
• Assist with merchandising of displays to maintain a sophisticated product presentation.
• Perform inventory control and replenishment to maintain proper stock levels.
• Complete miscellaneous projects as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Post‑high‑school education preferred.
• Ability to become a product‑knowledge expert, understanding differences in materials, components, functionality, and appropriate applications for customers.
• Ability to interact and provide excellent customer service both in‑person and on the phone.
• Ability to maintain a positive, professional attitude at all times.
• Experience with design and/or a creative background is a strong plus.
• Microsoft Office experience (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail with ability to prioritize and multitask.
• Self‑motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.

Schedule

Flexible part‑time hours, averaging 16 to 22 hours per week, including some Saturdays.
