About the role

AmeriServ is looking for a full-time Teller (Customer Ambassador) to support and perform deposit-account services and transaction processing. The first day and the following two weeks of paid training will be held at the Main Office in Johnstown, PA; future trainings will also take place there. You will train on the job for six months under general supervision.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the bank’s Customer Ambassador, building trusted relationships with new and existing customers.
• Provide quality, efficient, one-on-one service in person or over the phone.
• Advise customers on financial needs and recommend suitable products and services.
• Process regular transactions (receiving and paying out money) accurately and keep records of negotiable instruments.
• Identify opportunities to recommend products and services that meet customers’ financial goals.
• Facilitate lasting customer relationships through every interaction.
• Open and service deposit accounts via face-to-face, telephone, and online contact.
• Assist with maintenance of all bank products and services, including loan-production support.
• Answer customer and staff inquiries, respond to survey questions, and follow through on requests for additional information.
• Introduce customers to appropriate staff to cross-sell and expand relationships.
• Perform all teller-related duties and comply with all policies, procedures, and regulations.
• After training, rotate through branch duties to gain broad operational skills.
• Participate in sales meetings, promotions, and outbound calling to cross-sell products and meet referral goals.
• Mentor less-experienced Retail Sales Associates.
• Perform other related clerical duties as assigned.

• Must be available for initial two-week paid training in Johnstown, PA, and subsequent trainings at the Main Office.

Pay

Starting pay is $19.30 per hour.
