About the role
As a Nordstrom Rack team member, you'll be part of a dynamic and collaborative environment where you'll ensure a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all customers. Your role will involve continuous movement, working closely with teammates to maintain a clean and organized store.Responsibilities
- Work with the team to ensure the salesfloor is "runway ready" through re-merchandising and straightening.
- Assist customers during cashiering with various transactions, including operating a point-of-sale system, bagging items, and providing a seamless experience.
- Create a smooth fitting room experience by greeting and assisting customers and managing the return of clothing to the floor.
- Keep the store clean and organized by sorting and returning clothing to the salesfloor and maintaining stockrooms.
- Demonstrate expertise in all store technologies and adhere to operational, merchandise, and asset protection standards.
- Promote Nordstrom Rewards and other initiatives.
Stock Support and Fulfillment
- Receive, unload, unpack, and deliver newly arrived merchandise to selling departments.
- Fulfill customer orders in a timely manner, adhering to quality standards.
- Prepare and ship customer orders according to quality, packing, and shipping standards.
- Utilize inventory management systems to scan, process, and research merchandise shipments.
- Maintain clean and organized selling floors and stockrooms.
- Provide general support such as setting up special events, organizing backroom, markdowns, and relocating store fixtures.
Qualifications
- Clear, effective communication with strong interpersonal skills.
- Accountability, initiative, and a high level of ownership.
- Organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- The ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.
- Physical Requirements: Continuous movement for 6-8 hours per shift, including frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing, and reaching to handle merchandise and assist customers. Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling. Handle bulky and sometimes awkwardly shaped items, including reaching for and lifting these items above the head. Regularly lift items weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds. Stock and Fulfillment Only: Frequently lift and carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
