About the role
The Retail Sales Consultant is a full-time, on-site role based in Elizabeth, NJ.
Responsibilities
- Engage with customers in the retail environment, actively listening to their needs and recommending Optimum products and services that best fit their lifestyle or business requirements.
- Assist customers with account setup, upgrades, and troubleshooting basic service issues while ensuring a positive and efficient in-store experience.
- Meet or exceed sales targets.
- Maintain product knowledge.
- Handle transactions.
- Keep the store environment organized and welcoming.
- Collaborate with team members.
- Follow company policies and procedures.
- Represent Optimum’s brand standards in every customer interaction.
Qualifications
- Strong Retail Sales and Sales Consulting skills, with the ability to understand customer needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Demonstrated Customer Service and Customer Experience skills to create a welcoming and supportive in-store environment.
- Focus on Customer Satisfaction, using follow-through and clear communication to build trust and long-term relationships.
- Effective verbal communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills in a fast-paced retail setting.
- Comfort with technology, point-of-sale systems, and learning new products and services quickly.
- Able to work on-site in Elizabeth, NJ, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Previous retail, telecommunications, or consumer electronics experience is beneficial.
- A high school diploma or equivalent; additional education in business, marketing, or related fields is a plus.
