Retail Sales Associate (Tile)

Base pay starts at $15.10 per hour with higher starting pay available based on experience.

About the role

Floor & Decor’s Sales Associates play a key role in continuously providing customers with friendly, accurate service and support in finding products to complete their project. Our Sales Associates contribute to a fast-paced, safe environment by keeping sales departments clean and well stocked. Full-time and part-time positions are available.

Responsibilities

• Connect with customers, ask about their projects, recommend products, and excite customers about their purchase.
• Provide above-and-beyond customer service and exceed customer expectations.
• Maintain the in-stock condition of assigned areas and ensure they are clean, shoppable, and safe.
• Work in cooperation with management and team members to achieve sales goals.
• Process customers at checkout using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Process customer refunds and exchanges according to established guidelines.
• Follow established cash, check, and credit card acceptance procedures.
• Create price tags and merchandise signs.
• Stock, tag, and display merchandise.
• Act and work in a manner consistent with the company’s core values.
• Demonstrate and understand compliance with the company’s safety processes.
• Answer telephone according to company guidelines.
• Be available to assist in other areas of the store as needed.
• Work in a fast-paced environment with accuracy.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Knowledge of basic math skills.
• Customer service experience.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and work well under pressure.
• Some positions may require completion of forklift certifications through Floor & Decor.
• Where permissible by state law, certification to use heavy equipment requires successful passing of a drug test.

Working conditions

• Occasionally exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles.
• Noise level in the work environment is typically quiet to moderate.

Physical and sensory requirements

• Ability to exert 30–60 pounds of force occasionally, 20–30 pounds frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 20 pounds constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
• Frequently required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel.
• Frequently required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Schedule

• Store hours: Monday–Friday 7:00 AM–8:00 PM, Saturday 8:00 AM–7:00 PM, Sunday 10:00 AM–6:00 PM.
• Pickup hours: Monday–Friday 7:00 AM–7:00 PM, Saturday 8:00 AM–7:00 PM, Sunday 10:00 AM–6:00 PM.
