Retail Sales Associate PT

About the role

The CHEF’STORE Sales Associate plays a crucial role in maintaining an atmosphere of superior customer service, aligning with US Foods' core values of delivering excellence, stopping waste, winning together, speaking up, and valuing each individual.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all customers have an impeccable CHEF’STORE experience by developing and maximizing relationships with the store's customers.
• Utilize all tools and skills learned in the CHEF’STORE Way training and model the behavior in the store.
• Perform sales and cash functions in the POS in an efficient and accurate manner.
• Scan merchandise, weigh product on countertop scales as necessary, and verify product quality.
• Transfer products between carts, inspect for tampering, and check cart contents.
• Perform store opening and closing functions at the front end based on assigned shift.
• Work with customers to increase sales and manage shrinkage.
• Stock shelves, rotate product, and ensure proper labeling.
• Assist in inventory and cycle count processes.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for staff and customers.
• Operate cleaning equipment and assist with parking lot and store entry area maintenance.
• Participate in special store events and assist with various tasks as directed.

Requirements

• Minimum 6-12 months retail cashier and/or stocking experience.
• Minimum one year retail selling and/or customer service experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills, cash handling experience, and proficiency using general office equipment.
• High school diploma or equivalent work experience.

• Good, solid common sense and logical thinking.
• Self-motivated and self-driven with the ability to multi-task and prioritize.
• Flexible to work Monday - Sunday between 5:00am and 7:00pm.
• Ability to work in various departments including Meat/Frozen, Produce/Dairy, and Dry Goods/Culinary Equipment & Supply.

Pay

The starting rate is $18.65/hr.

Schedule

Monday - Sunday, between 5:00am and 7:00pm, with flexibility to work holidays and weekends.
