About the role
The CHEF’STORE Sales Associate plays a crucial role in maintaining an atmosphere of superior customer service, aligning with US Foods' cultural beliefs of delivering excellence, stopping waste, winning together, speaking up, and valuing each individual.
Responsibilities
- Ensure impeccable customer service by developing and maximizing relationships with store customers.
- Utilize all tools and skills learned in the CHEF’STORE Way training and model these behaviors in the store.
- Perform sales and cash functions in the POS system efficiently and accurately, including scanning merchandise, weighing product, and reporting discrepancies.
- Transfer carts between checkouts and verify contents before customers leave.
- Assist in store opening and closing duties as directed by management.
- Manage inventory by receiving shipments, stocking shelves, and ensuring proper product labeling and rotation.
- Assist with price changes and participate in inventory and cycle count processes.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by following safety policies and practices, notifying management of safety issues, and assisting with cleaning tasks.
- Operate reach trucks and pallet jacks for moving product and stocking shelves.
Requirements
- Minimum 6-12 months of retail cashier and/or stocking experience.
- Minimum one year of retail selling and/or customer service experience preferred.
- Basic computer skills, cash handling experience, and proficiency with general office equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
- Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform other physical activities as listed above.
