Retail Sales Associate (Part-Time/OPS)

The John & Mable Ringling Museum of Art, located in Sarasota, Florida, is a department of Florida State University.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent, enthusiastic customer service to visitors.
• Proactively seek out and assist visitors in greeting and product selections.
• Learn the store's products and the story behind the product.
• Answer general visitor inquiries in person or via the phone.
• Process sales at the register.
• Process shipping orders and returns.
• Help maintain the store's appearance, including dusting, straightening, restocking, and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time, climb a small step ladder, stock products on high and low shelves, and often lift up to 25 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous retail experience.
• Ability to learn a computer-based point-of-sale system.

Pay

$15.45 per hour (24 hours a week).

Schedule

• Shift typically starts at 9:30 AM, three days a week, but varies based on the needs of The Ringling.
• Hours include weekends, days, evenings, and holidays.

This is an OPS/temporary position. Based on the duties, this role may require completion of a criminal history background check. Work location: Sarasota, FL. Employees are required to adhere to business dress standards. If selected for an interview, a work sample will be administered.
