Retail Sales Associate FT

About the role

The CHEF’STORE Sales Associate plays a crucial role in maintaining a high standard of customer service and adhering to the US Foods cultural beliefs. This position requires a combination of cashiering, stocking, and customer service duties.

Responsibilities

• Ensure impeccable customer service by interacting with customers and promoting the CHEF’STORE brand.
• Utilize POS systems efficiently and accurately, including scanning, weighing, and reporting discrepancies.
• Perform cart-to-cart transfers, inspecting products for tampering, and verifying purchases.
• Work in various departments, including Meat/Frozen, Produce/Dairy, and Dry Goods/Culinary Equipment & Supply, replenishing stock and rotating products.
• Assist with special events, such as vendor fairs and sales floor resets, and participate in inventory processes.
• Support store opening and closing functions as directed by management.
• Participate in inventory and cycle count processes as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by following safety protocols and cleaning duties.

Requirements

• Minimum 6-12 months of retail cashier and/or stocking experience.
• Minimum one year of retail selling and/or customer service experience preferred.
• Desire and ability to provide exceptional customer service.
• Good common sense and logical thinking skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Flexible schedule, including holidays and weekends.
• Basic computer skills and proficiency with office equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
• Ability to perform physical activities for extended periods, including standing, walking, lifting up to 100 pounds, and bending.

Pay

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law (for example: state or local minimum wage thresholds).

Schedule

Full-time, typically working from 6:30 PM onwards.

Physical Demands

The role requires frequent standing, walking, lifting up to 100 pounds, bending, reaching above shoulder, and twisting. Manual dexterity and pushing/pulling are also required.
