Retail Sales Associate FT

About the role

The CHEF’STORE Sales Associate plays a crucial role in maintaining an atmosphere of superior customer service, aligning with US Foods' core values of delivering excellence, stopping waste, working together, speaking up, and valuing each individual.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all customers have an impeccable CHEF’STORE experience by developing and maximizing relationships with the store's customers.
• Utilize all tools and skills learned in the CHEF’STORE Way training and model the behavior in the store.
• Perform sales and cash functions in the POS in an efficient and accurate manner.
• Scan merchandise, weigh product on countertop scales as necessary, and verify product quality.
• Transfer products between carts, inspect for tampering, and check cart contents against purchases.
• Assist in receiving inventory shipments and maintaining and stocking shelves.
• Perform store opening and closing functions as directed by store management.
• Assist with price changes and participate in inventory and cycle count processes.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for staff and customers.
• Operate reach trucks and pallet jacks for moving product and stocking.

Requirements

• Minimum 6-12 months retail cashier and/or stocking experience.
• Minimum one year retail selling and/or customer service experience preferred.
• Desire and ability to deliver exceptional customer service.
• Good, solid common sense and logical thinking.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently or within a team.
• Flexible to work Monday - Sunday between 5:00am and 7:00pm.
• Basic computer skills, cash handling experience, and proficiency using general office equipment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent work experience.
• Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 20 lbs, bend, stoop, kneel, push/pull, climb/balance, reach above shoulder, twist, grasp objects, manipulate objects, and perform manual dexterity tasks.

Skills

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Basic computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
