Retail Sales Associate

About the role

Cox Communications is seeking a Retail Sales Associate to create exceptional customer experiences and drive sales. This role involves evening, weekend, and holiday work, and requires strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Explain and demonstrate product capabilities as well as offer suggestions based on customer's wants and needs
• Meet or exceed targets regarding customer experience, sales, and retention
• Aid in the opening/closing of retail store environments
• Handle cash properly
• Engage in workshops, special events, and product demos
• Support fellow sales agents when needed
• Continuously expand knowledge of current Cox products and competitor offerings through regular training
• May be required to work in other locations in the same geographical area

Qualifications

• Minimum HS diploma/GED or up to 2 years of relevant work experience
• Ability to meet established sales, retention, and customer experience targets
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to sell products consultatively
• Ability to build relationships and adapt to a diverse customer base
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a service-oriented, fast-paced team environment
• Ability to be mobile within the store for long periods of time
• Computer literacy with an aptitude for learning communication products, services, and accessories
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule which includes weekends, evenings, and holidays
• Ability to lift 25-50 pounds to help manage stock room inventory

Benefits

• Variable targeted total compensation of $55,877 ($26.86/hr.) with potential for higher earnings
• Full-time hourly base rate of $18.38 per hour plus monthly targeted commissions of $1,471
• Ramp period of up to 2 months to adjust to commission earnings
