Retail Sales Associate - 3258
We are seeking entry-level, full-time sales associates in our pawn store locations nationwide. The Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate partners with the entire staff to ensure customer service on both the lending and retail sides of the business.
About the role
The Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate greets, engages, and interacts with customers in a positive and professional manner to process sales, loans, and other transactions. Associates thrive on engaging with customers, assisting with inquiries, and resolving problems. The role involves working with a wide variety of jewelry and general merchandise, including tools, electronics, and firearms (in FFL locations).
This full-time position offers an hourly wage plus commission based on productivity. Actual pay will vary based on work location, qualifications, and experience.
Responsibilities
- Greet and interact with all customers to develop rapport and recommend appropriate financial solutions.
- Perform non-management open/close procedures.
- Keep the sales floor clean, stocked, and maintain merchandise displays.
- Perform sales and loan transactions in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Handle all cash and negotiable items following company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Answer incoming calls per company standards.
- Communicate the legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions to customers.
- Collaborate with coworkers and managers to create a positive and memorable customer experience.
- Successfully complete assigned training.
- Assist customers outside the building (e.g., parking lots or property boundaries) or retrieve products from exterior storage areas.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to perform duties for extended periods, including standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
- Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified.
- Minimum age: 18 years old.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
- Strong desire to work, serve customers, and be team-oriented.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in basic math calculations.
- Cash handling experience preferred.
- Ability to work in multiple locations as business needs dictate.
- Flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Computer literate and able to operate Point-Of-Sale (POS) systems and common office machines.

Pay
Hourly wage: $13.45 to $15.95 per hour.
Commission: Up to 8% on transactions, averaging an additional $1.37 per hour on top of the hourly rate. Pawnbrokers can earn 2-8% commission based on the gross profit of their personal performance. Details provided during the interview process.
