Retail Sales Associate - 2409

We are seeking entry-level, full-time sales associates in our pawn store locations nationwide. The Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate partners with the entire staff to ensure customer service on both the lending and retail sides of the business.

About the role

The Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate greets, engages, and interacts with customers in a positive and professional manner to process sales, loans, and other transactions. Associates thrive on engaging with customers and assist with inquiries and problem resolution. The role involves working with a wide variety of jewelry and general merchandise, including tools, electronics, and firearms (in FFL locations).

This full-time position offers an hourly wage plus commission based on productivity. Actual pay will be based on work location, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities

• Greets and interacts with all customers to develop rapport and recommend appropriate financial solutions.
• Performs non-management open/close procedures.
• Keeps the sales floor clean, stocked, and maintains merchandise displays.
• Performs sales and loan transactions in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Handles all cash and negotiable items following established policies and regulatory requirements.
• Answers incoming calls per company standards.
• Communicates the legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions to customers.
• Partners with coworkers and managers to create a positive and memorable customer experience.
• Successfully completes assigned training.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to perform duties for extended periods, including standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
• Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified.
• May assist customers outside the building or retrieve products from exterior storage areas.
• Minimum age: 18 years old.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Strong desire to work, serve customers, and be team-oriented.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in basic math calculations.
• Cash handling experience preferred.
• Ability to work in multiple locations as business needs dictate.
• Must work a flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Computer literate and able to operate Point-Of-Sale (POS) systems and common office machines.

Pay

$11.00 to $13.00 per hour, plus commission. Employees can earn up to 8% commission on transactions, averaging an additional $1.56 per hour on top of the hourly rate. Commission details are provided during the interview process.

Schedule

Most stores open at 9 AM and close at 6 PM; many stores are closed on Sundays. Schedule is flexible based on business needs, including weekends and holidays.
