About the role

We are seeking entry-level, full-time sales associates in our pawn store locations nationwide. The Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate partners with the entire staff to ensure customer service on both the lending and retail sides of the business. Associates greet, engage, and interact with customers in a positive and professional manner to process sales, loans, and other transactions. The role involves working with a wide variety of jewelry and general merchandise, including tools, electronics, and firearms (in FFL locations). This position offers an hourly wage plus commission based on productivity.

Pay

Hourly rate: $11.50 to $14.50 per hour. Employees can earn up to 8% commission on transactions, averaging an additional $1.00 per hour on top of the hourly rate. Actual pay depends on work location, qualifications, and experience.

Commission details: Pawnbrokers have the potential to earn 2-8% commission based on the gross profit of their personal performance. More details are provided during the interview process.

Schedule

Most stores open at 9 AM and close at 6 PM; many locations are closed on Sundays. Employees must be available to work a flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays, based on business needs.

Responsibilities

• Greet and interact with customers to develop rapport and recommend financial solutions.
• Perform non-management open/close procedures.
• Maintain a clean, stocked sales floor and merchandise displays.
• Process sales and loan transactions in accordance with policies and regulatory requirements.
• Handle cash and negotiable items per established procedures.
• Answer incoming calls per company standards.
• Communicate legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions to customers.
• Collaborate with coworkers and managers to create a positive customer experience.
• Complete assigned training and other related duties as needed.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds and perform duties for extended periods, including standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, and pulling.
• Willingness to work with firearms and become firearms certified (where applicable).
• Ability to assist customers outside the building (e.g., parking lots) or retrieve products from exterior storage.
• Strong customer service orientation and teamwork skills.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and perform basic math calculations proficiently.
• Cash handling experience preferred.
• Flexibility to work in multiple locations as business needs dictate.
• Computer literacy and ability to operate POS systems and office machines.
