About the Role

We are seeking entry-level, full-time sales associates in our pawn store locations nationwide. The Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate partners with the entire staff to ensure customer service on both the lending and retail sides of the business. This position offers an hourly wage plus commission based on productivity, with the potential to earn up to 8% on transactions, averaging an additional $1.00 per hour on top of the hourly rate.

The successful candidate's actual pay will be based on work location, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities

• Greets and interacts with all customers to develop rapport and recommend appropriate financial solutions.
• Performs non-management open/close procedures.
• Keeps the sales floor clean, stocked, and maintains the display of merchandise.
• Performs sales and loan transactions in accordance with established policies, procedures, practices, and regulatory requirements.
• Handles all cash and negotiable items in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Answers incoming calls per company standards.
• Effectively communicates the legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions to customers.
• Communicates effectively with coworkers and managers, displaying respect and using effective communication tools.
• Partners with all employees to create a positive and memorable customer experience.
• Successfully completes assigned training.
• Assists customers on the exterior of the building, including parking lots and retrieving products from storage areas.
• Other related duties, as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
• Must be willing and able to perform duties for extended periods, including standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
• Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified.
• Minimum age: 18 years old.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Strong desire to work, serve customers, and be team-oriented.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in basic math calculations.
• Cash handling experience is preferred.
• Ability to work in multiple locations as business needs dictate.
• Must have the ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Computer literate and able to operate Point-Of-Sale (POS) systems and common office machines.

Pay

$11.50 to $14.50 per hour, plus commission. Pawnbrokers have the potential to earn 2-8% commission based on the gross profit of their personal performance.

Schedule

Most stores open at 9 AM and close at 6 PM; many stores are closed on Sundays. Flexible retail schedule based on business needs, including weekends and holidays.
