About the Role

As the Daily Operations Leader, you will oversee the daily operations at both Starbucks locations on campus. You will spend most of your time on the store floor providing guidance and direction to staff to uphold Starbucks and Campus Dining standards for excellence in service.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, direct, train, support, and assist all FSW I and student employees.
  • Oversee daily operations in a fast-paced Starbucks environment.
  • Execute the training program in collaboration with the Brand Standards Leader.
  • Maintain detailed records in the Daily Records Book, including coffee/espresso tastings, daily cleaning tasks, product outages, and other information as directed.
  • Ensure all-day product availability by directing, facilitating, or executing the daily sandwich pull, pastry pull, and preparation of backup products. Maintain and adjust records to meet shifting customer demands.
  • Ensure orders through the Starbucks Market are placed on time and in appropriate amounts based on established PAR levels.
  • Communicate delivery issues with the Brand Standards Leader to ensure quality products.
  • Assist with ordering duties for both Starbucks locations as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment by accomplishing or facilitating daily, weekly, and quarterly cleaning tasks.
  • Keep storage areas organized at each location.
  • Ensure prompt and safe storage of all vendor-delivered products; monitor deliveries for issues and communicate them to the Assistant Manager and Brand Standards Leader.
  • Assist the department in reaching its goals and ensure staff follow department guidelines in collaboration with the Assistant Manager, Brand Standards Leader, and District Manager.
  • Collaborate with leadership to address needed changes as they are identified.
  • Ensure all customer needs are met by providing prompt and courteous service; execute service recovery as needed to elevate customer experience.
  • Actively work to improve customer connect scores.
  • Review weekly store communications and updates from the Starbucks website (LSStar).
  • Meet weekly with the Brand Standards Leader to discuss updates and progress on assignments.
  • Ensure seasonal launches are executed to Starbucks standards and stores are organized according to Sirens Eye in collaboration with the Brand Standards Leader.
  • Follow all verbal and written instructions from supervisors.
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned.
  • Assist with scheduling and staffing needs for both Starbucks locations; update and submit unit needs sheets and enter schedules in SubItUp or other scheduling systems.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications: Associate's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience, with at least 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Dependability and strong communication skills (verbal, written, and email).
    • Self-motivated and detail-oriented.
    • Ability to read, write, and perform basic math.
    • ServSafe certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
    • Ability to grasp and lift objects up to 50 pounds from the floor to shoulder height.
    • Must obtain Starbucks certifications as Barista Basics, Daily Operator, and Barista Trainer within 2 months of hire, and Store Manager Certification within 6 months of hire.

Pay

Salary Range: $22.00 - $24.50 per hour.

Schedule

Normal scheduled hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, with occasional evenings and weekends.
