Retail & Rental Assistant – Student Worker (Fall)

About the role

The Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art seeks outgoing students to assist the Manager of Retail and Rentals. Key responsibilities include greeting customers, assisting with purchases, operating a cashless POS system, maintaining cleanliness, and preparing for special events.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and foster a welcoming environment
• Assist customers with purchases and answer any questions
• Operate a cashless point-of-sale system
• Maintain cleanliness and organization on the store floor and in the stockroom
• Absorb inventory tracking and stocking
• Perform quality control checks on merchandise
• Assist with the organization and set-up of special events (including arranging tables, chairs, and equipment)
• Work during events as needed
• Help maintain organization and cleanliness in rental spaces (catering kitchen and supply storage)

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in the Fall 2026 term as a student at the University of Oklahoma
• Hiring contingent upon verification of current student status
• Previous experience in retail, food service, or customer service is preferred
• Ability to quickly learn and apply various technologies including: point of sale/inventory systems and Audio Visual equipment
