About the role

MERS Goodwill is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Community Organizer. The ideal candidate will have experience in community development, social justice, and organizing.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies to engage and mobilize community members around local issues.
• Facilitate community meetings and workshops to address social and economic needs.
• Collaborate with local organizations to build coalitions and advance collective action.
• Conduct outreach and engagement activities to increase awareness and participation in community initiatives.
• Assist in the planning and execution of events that promote community empowerment and social change.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in community organizing or related field.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience with community-based projects and campaigns.

Qualifications

• Passion for social justice and community empowerment.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to travel as needed.
