About the role
MERS Goodwill is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Community Organizer. The ideal candidate will have experience in community development, social justice, and organizing.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies to engage and mobilize community members around local issues.
- Facilitate community meetings and workshops to address social and economic needs.
- Collaborate with local organizations to build coalitions and advance collective action.
- Conduct outreach and engagement activities to increase awareness and participation in community initiatives.
- Assist in the planning and execution of events that promote community empowerment and social change.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
- At least 2 years of experience in community organizing or related field.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with community-based projects and campaigns.
Qualifications
- Passion for social justice and community empowerment.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to travel as needed.
