As a Retail Print Manager at Office Depot, you will drive print sales and service growth within a high-volume store. Your expertise will help create a vibrant sales culture, enhance visual and merchandising standards for print products, and prioritize client satisfaction. You will oversee the print production process, manage equipment and supplies, and ensure high-quality print materials. This role also involves leading a customer-centric environment, engaging with the local community, and fostering a positive culture aligned with Office Depot’s 5C values: Caring, Committed, Creative, Collaborative, & Courageous. As a "Key Carrier," you will be responsible for opening and closing the store.

Responsibilities

  • Sales and Service Excellence:
    • Own the delivery of memorable customer experiences and client satisfaction in the Print Department.
    • Ensure execution of Office Depot selling techniques and sales training in print and across the store.
    • Drive a sales-focused environment through training and development of all associates, including print.
    • Act as a role model for exceptional customer service and product expertise.
  • Leadership and Team Development:
    • Provide guidance, direction, and ongoing training to associates on print processes and selling techniques.
    • Facilitate training sessions on the business model and holistic service offerings.
    • Observe, coach, and provide feedback to enhance associate proficiency and build a culture of trust and brand loyalty.
    • Exercise independent judgment in assessing store associates' performance, certifications, and competencies.
    • Perform other duties as deemed necessary.
  • Operational Efficiency:
    • Operate all equipment within the Print Services area to maintain efficient production and ensure orders are completed correctly and on time.
    • Identify areas for process improvement and implement plans to reduce waste and inefficiencies, including monitoring and managing print supplies.
    • Contribute to increasing sales and profitability through conversion, Average Order Value (AOV), and customer satisfaction initiatives.
  • External Key Carrier Responsibilities:
    • Maintain the safety and security of the print department, building, and associates during the absence of other managers.
    • Perform opening and closing responsibilities, including alarm system activation/deactivation, cash handling, and daily store balancing.
    • Ensure regular loss prevention compliance in partnership with all associates.
    • Fulfill all responsibilities associated with the External Key Carrier designation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  • 1–3 years of related experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of management experience or equivalent internal development.
  • Experience in Print Center operations.
  • Experience with logistics, freight, and visual merchandising.

Skills

  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong PC skills: Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook.
    • Subject matter expert in Print Services and related systems.
    • Proficient with role-related technology and POS systems.
  • Sales, Customer & Leadership Competencies:
    • Advanced selling skills.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
    • Passion for the brand, products, services, and solutions.
    • Desire to continuously grow selling skills and product knowledge.
    • Ability to coach, train, and develop others.

Schedule

Must be able to work a flexible schedule that aligns with business needs, including evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $15.00 to $19.00 per hour. All state and local minimum wage laws will be complied with, which may result in an adjustment to the salary range.
