Retail Pharmacy Lead Technician
Job Description
Assists with scheduling, daily workflow, technician/intern daily placement, and overall pharmacy organization.
Assists with insurance audits and solves complicated out of network insurance claims.
Responsible for ensuring timely communication with clinicians and different pharmacy teams.
Investigates and resolves prescription issues and communicates directly with patients and providers.
Communicates appropriately and professionally with providers, patients, pharmacy team ensuring all issues are triaged efficiently.
Manages formulary and medication assistance program inquiries and prioritizes efforts to safely and effectively address any needs.
Participates in quality initiatives and process improvement efforts for prescription requests, prior authorizations, and education for providers, staff, and pharmacy updates.
Affords support in on-boarding and continuous training programs for pharmacy technicians, technician trainees and interns for BILH Pharmacy.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Active state certification in Massachusetts.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician required (CPhT).
- 3-5 years related work experience required.
- Ability to develop strong relationships with diverse groups of professionals (physicians, nurses, administration, etc.).
- Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT-Adv).
- Knowledge of Epic, PioneerRx and ParataMax preferred.
- Previous experience with quality assurance.
- Knowledge and experience with medication reconciliation and 340b compliance and policies.
- Previous experience with information systems, prescription prior authorizations, inventory management and prescription home delivery.
Pay
The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
