Responsibilities

• Fills and helps process prescriptions
• Provides prompt and efficient service
• Affixes labels to prescription containers
• Trains employees
• Prepares prescriptions
• Reports any medication errors to appropriate personnel
• Prepares and affixes labels to prescription containers
• Assists with inventory control
• Maintains cleanliness of pharmacy and dispensing area
• Follows security and regulatory procedures including Quality Assurance Programs
• Assists with monthly inventory
• Assists in other areas of the store as needed

Requirements

• Six months or less of similar or related work experience
• Enrolled in accredited college of pharmacy and registered with State Pharmacy Board as an intern

Qualifications

• Ability to do logical or scientific thinking to solve problems
• Compose original correspondence
• Follow technical manuals
• Have increased contact with people
• Interview counsel or advise people
• Evaluate technical data
• Do arithmetic calculations involving arithmetic, algebraic and geometric calculations
• Physically exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 10 pounds of force frequently, and a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects
• Have the ability to see at distances of more than 20 inches and less than 20 feet, and have a field of vision
• Perform fingering, grasping, feeling, repetitive motions, talking, hearing, lifting, stooping, and reaching
• Handle multiple tasks (filling scripts, answering telephone, waiting on customers, etc.) every day
• Occasionally exposed to dangerous chemicals/solvents
