Retail Pharmacist - Temp; Float

We are hiring a Pharmacist to join our outstanding Float Department, working at Seven Lakes Pharmacy in Shoreview, MN and floating to all 25 of our retail locations.

About the role

This is a temporary position with a 90-day commitment and the possibility for extension. The role involves providing clinical care to patients, assisting the pharmacy manager in operations and management, and supervising support staff while ensuring adherence to all policies and procedures.

Floating incentives include extra hourly compensation, paid mileage when working away from the home site pharmacy, and no weekend requirement.

Responsibilities

• Provide appropriate clinical care, including patient counseling and prospective drug use evaluation.
• Perform initial patient evaluation as it pertains to prescribed therapies.
• Collect, analyze, interpret, and evaluate data relative to medication therapy.
• Evaluate signs and symptoms relative to disease processes and recommend modifications to drug therapy.
• Assess the clinical importance of adverse reactions and complications associated with drug therapy.
• Monitor patient records for potential drug interactions and allergies.
• Provide counseling and answer questions from patients, family, and healthcare professionals concerning drug therapy.
• Ensure accurate labeling and timely dispensing of prescription medications.
• Identify and resolve patient-specific medication-related problems.
• Ensure dispensing of prescriptions complies with legal requirements, regulatory agencies, third-party contracts, and Fairview policies.
• Manage error reporting and resolution activities.
• Ensure accurate and complete billing to payers.
• Utilize technologies to ensure accuracy and efficiency in the dispensing process.

Requirements

• B.S./B.A. or PharmD in Pharmacy from an accredited school of Pharmacy.
• Working knowledge of third-party pay plans.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Proficiency in the English language.
• Ability to manage time and people effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow policies and procedures.
• Active MN Pharmacy License.
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross) required at sites providing vaccinations.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year of experience as a practicing pharmacist in a community setting.

Pay

Pay rate is determined by skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions, with a focus on pay equity and internal team equity. Hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical. If eligible, a sign-on bonus may be offered based on the approved program at the time of the offer.

Schedule

80 hours bi-weekly, with a schedule consisting of day and evening shifts. No weekend requirement.
