Retail Pharmacist - Full-Time, Day Shift
About the role
Provides pharmaceutical care to patients served by the community pharmacies. Compounds, prepares, mixes, manufactures and dispenses medicines and preparations. Responsible in all areas of pharmaceutical practice to provide medication information to the medical staff, hospital staff, patients, and community.
Responsibilities
- Prepares and/or supervises the preparation and dispensing of medication orders/prescriptions.
- Orders and maintains medication supplies.
- Interprets and transcribes prescriptions and obtains immediate clarification when necessary.
- Supervises support staff in the transcription and preparation of prescription medications.
- Aids in training by reviewing work and answering questions.
- Maintains knowledge of over-the-counter products and provides appropriate consultation to patients.
- Maintains records required to meet third-party payers, laws and regulations.
- Affords assistance with quality assurance monitoring, data collection, and continual accreditation preparedness.
Requirements
- Education and Work Experience: Graduate of school of pharmacy: Required Bachelor's Degree: Preferred One year's technical experience: Preferred One year's retail pharmacy experience: Preferred
- Licenses/Certifications: Pharmacist license in the state of practice: Required All licensures and certifications needed to fulfill the duties required of a Pharmacist at the state level: Required Facility Specific License/Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
