Retail Pharmacist
About the role
The Retail Pharmacist will assist the Retail Pharmacy Manager in outpatient pharmacy operations. They will coordinate the activities of the pharmacy department to provide high-quality pharmaceutical care to all patients served by the hospital or the outpatient pharmacy, ensuring patient safety.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Retail Pharmacy Manager in outpatient pharmacy operations.
- Coordinate the activities of the pharmacy department to provide high-quality pharmaceutical care to all patients served by the hospital or the outpatient pharmacy, ensuring patient safety.
- Provide pharmaceutical care to patients across various departments including General Medicine/Surgical, Intensive Care Services, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Pediatrics, Emergency Care, Oncology, Perioperative, Geriatrics, and Outpatient Services including Immunizations, Meds to Beds, and coordination with Pharmacotherapy, Population Health, and Specialty Pharmacy teams.
Requirements
- Current state Registered Pharmacist License required.
- B.S. degree in Pharmacy or PharmD required.
- At least 3 years of previous pharmacy retail experience preferred.
- Previous retail supervisory or PIC experience preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and customer service skills required.
- Experience with pharmacy computer systems, spreadsheets, word processing programs, and other databases required.
- APhA Immunization Certification and BLS required.
- Experience working with Ambulatory Pharmacy Teams preferred.
- 340B program experience preferred (if at a 340B facility).
Qualifications
- Education: B.S. degree in Pharmacy or PharmD.
Skills
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Customer service skills.
- Experience with pharmacy computer systems, spreadsheets, word processing programs, and other databases.
- APhA Immunization Certification and BLS.

The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
