Retail Pharmacist

About the role

Experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or LTC is preferred. 2-3 days per week consisting of 10 hours per day. Hours will include Saturdays and/or Sundays.

Responsibilities

• Perform all duties required by law in the dispensing of prescriptions.
• Supervise all ancillary personnel while on duty.
• Counsel patients and/or customers as required.
• Ensure that billing is correct and oversee clerks and technicians in billing as needed.
• Interpret, clarify, and fill prescription orders with no errors.
• Maintain all records including controlled drugs, inventory, and prescriptions.
• Ensure proper documentation as required by local, state, and Federal regulations.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and clerks and coordinate workflow.
• Other tasks and duties may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications and skills

• Current and valid California Pharmacy License.
• BS in Pharmacy, Pharm D preferred.
• Excellent communication skills in both oral and writing.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Multitasking and ability to prioritize work.
• Good organizational skills.
• Has integrity, compassion, and empathy.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and, essentially, PrimeCare (QS1) would be a plus point.
