Plan, coordinate, and facilitate in-store events—including kids’ birthday parties—to create a stress-free, fun, and engaging experience for guests. Deliver friendly customer service, assist shoppers, and ensure a fast, welcoming checkout process. Perform operational tasks such as truck unload, merchandise duties, and maintaining store recovery standards.
Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate multiple events simultaneously, including children’s birthday parties, craft classes, and other store events.
- Engage with clients of all ages (4 to 94+) by fostering an environment of fun and creativity.
- Demonstrate and instruct party participants in completing craft projects, perform face painting, and lead other activities.
- Facilitate and implement party add-ons (e.g., goody bags, balloons) to company standards.
- Communicate event details with clients and store team members.
- Complete administrative tasks such as answering emails, making phone calls, and handling paperwork.
- Adjust event plans based on client feedback and needs, and create backup or emergency plans as required.
- Ensure client satisfaction for all scheduled events and uphold company cleanliness and safety standards.
- Set up, break down, and clean event spaces before and after each event.
- Assist customers with shopping, locating products, and providing solutions.
- Deliver a fast and friendly checkout experience.
- Engage customers on the benefits of the Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards, and complete enrollments.
- Educate customers on the Voice of Customer (VOC) survey.
- Assist with Omni channel processes, including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS).
- Participate in truck unload, stocking, and planogram (POGs) processes.
- Complete merchandise recovery and maintenance, and perform Store in Stock Optimization (SISO) and AD set duties as assigned.
- Support shrink and safety programs, and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and company policies.
- Interact with others in an accepting and respectful manner, remaining positive even in difficult situations.
- Cross-trained in Custom Framing selling and production.
- Participate in daily store cleanliness activities (e.g., sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, restroom maintenance).
Requirements
- Energetic and enthusiastic personality with the ability to handle job stress and interact effectively with guests of all ages and co-workers.
- Excellent people skills and experience working with children and children’s events.
- Strong communication skills, including written, verbal, nonverbal, and listening abilities.
- Organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and creative problem-solving abilities.
- Retail and/or customer service experience required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to remain standing for long periods of time.
- Ability to move throughout the store, including regular bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, and stretching.
- Lifting heavy boxes and accessing high shelves using a ladder or similar equipment.
Work Environment
Public retail store setting with climate-controlled public areas; some stock rooms may not be climate controlled. Work may include outdoor tasks such as retrieving shopping carts or unloading trucks. Frame shop contains a glass cutter and heat press. Work hours include nights, weekends, and early mornings.
