About the Role

A professional-level sales position supporting advanced functions of the DIY business. This role requires expert knowledge of store systems, automotive systems, and parts, with the ability to assist DIY customers through advanced identification, troubleshooting, and project support. The position is full-time.

Responsibilities

  • Provide GAS2 selling experience for DIY customer visits and phone calls.
  • Achieve personal and store sales goals and service objectives.
  • Manage DIY services including battery installation, testing, and wiper installs.
  • Ensure high standards of customer service and store appearance.
  • Perform key holder responsibilities (task assignment, safety, open/close duties).
  • Assist in store inventory processes including truck put-away, shoot outs, cycle counts, and back stock management.
  • Maintain store cleanliness including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, and parking lot upkeep.

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of automotive systems (e.g., internal engine, suspension, brakes, electronic, exhaust) and diagnostic ability.
  • Ability to speak and write English (Spanish a plus); strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to execute instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Successfully complete the Parts Knowledge Assessment.
  • Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft software (Word, Excel).
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Skills

  • Friendly communication and advanced selling skills for DIY customers.
  • Ability to locate and stock parts efficiently.
  • Safety knowledge and operational skills for inventory systems and store equipment.
  • Expertise in testing and diagnostic equipment for DIY services.
  • ASE P2 certified or ASE-ready equivalent.
  • Advanced parts lookup, sourcing, and project/product quality recommendations.

Preferred Experience

  • 3-5 years of prior automotive parts experience.
  • Proven sales ability with past customer transaction experience.

Schedule

Full-time, with an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends as needed.

Physical Demands

Compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws regarding physical requirements for the role.
