About the Role

A professional-level sales position supporting advanced functions of the DIY business. This role requires expert knowledge of store systems, automotive systems, and parts, with the ability to assist DIY customers through advanced identification, troubleshooting, and project support. The position is full-time.

Responsibilities

  • Provide GAS2 selling experience for DIY customer visits and phone calls.
  • Achieve personal and store sales goals and service objectives.
  • Manage DIY services including battery installation, testing, wiper installs, etc.
  • Ensure high standards of customer service and store appearance.
  • Perform key holder responsibilities (task assignment, safety, open/close duties).
  • Assist in store inventory processes (truck put away, cycle counts, back stock, etc.).
  • Maintain store cleanliness (floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, parking lot).

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of automotive systems (engine, suspension, brakes, electronics, exhaust, etc.).
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (Spanish a plus) and build strong relationships with customers, peers, and management.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting safety rules, operating instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals.
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends.

Skills

  • Advanced automotive system and parts knowledge.
  • Expertise in testing and diagnostic equipment for DIY services.
  • ASE P2 certified or equivalent ASE-ready.
  • Advanced parts lookup, sourcing, and project assistance.
  • Advanced selling skills for DIY customers.
  • Proficiency in operating POS, parts lookup systems, and inventory systems.

Preferred Experience

  • 3–5 years of prior automotive parts experience.
  • Proven sales ability with past customer transaction experience.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license.
  • ASE certification preferred but not required.

Pay

The estimated pay range for this role is $18.85–$20.98 USD per hour for new team members, depending on geographic location, experience, automotive knowledge, education, leadership roles, and other relevant factors.
